3 Benefits of the 'Audiobook Boom'

Written by Kalish Nesbitt

Audio trends everywhere are through the roof. Some would say that the current trends in audio content consumption are surging and that we are in the middle of an audio boom. From podcast, and audiobooks to voice search, and earbud & and AirPod sales folks are flocking to audio.

In case you’re still on th fence here are three benefits of consuming audio content.

  1. Helps increase comprehension and vocabulary We’ve all googled the pronunciation of unfamiliar words we’ve seen in a book. A major benefit of listing to audio content is hearing the correct way to say a word or use a phrase as an expression.

  2. Ability to hear emotion behind the author or writer’s voice Much like painting a picture in your mind when a friend is sharing a story, audiobooks help listeners understand the emotions behind the words of their books.

  3. Helps double your productivity levels Did you have a goal to read a certain amount of books this year? According to The Publisher’s Association, audiobook listeners read or listened to an average of 15 books in the last year, and 57% of listeners agreed or strongly agreed that audiobooks help you finish more books.

Technology has paired with the publishing industry in a brilliant way by the use of audiobooks. I still find pleasure in listening just as much as reading a physical book.
